Twelve employees of Stonerich, coming from different projects/departments, have successfully completed the Construction Safety and Health Training Course prescribed by the Department of Labor and Employment – Bureau of Working Conditions on June 22, 2008 held at Guadalupe Viejo Baragay Hall, Makati City.
A five-day seminar or 40 hours of instructions, it was held on five consecutive Sundays starting May 25 up to June 22, 2008 as suggested by MSC- Human Resources Department to its organizer, Development for Progress (DevPro), Inc. headed by Celerina P. de Jesus, due to safety concerns encountered at the Texas Instruments, Clark, Pampanga.
Though initially proposed by the Philippine Society of Construction Safety Practitioners’ president – Engr. Don R. Orido as Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) Training, it was generously amended by the overall facilitator, Mr. Celerina Castro of DOLE-OSH, Construction Safety and Health Training Course in order to keep the instructions specific to construction. Moreover, BOSH is very generic to all industries when safety is concerned.
Participants of the said training from MSC are: Christian Corcuera of SM Cubao; Willy Sanchez- currently at Zamboanga; Jefry Morales - Texas Instruments Clark, Pampanga; Virgilio Flores- One Tagaytay ; Leo Caldoza- Sta. Ana Park , Johnny Almazan- Grand Quartier 2 ; Teddy Corpuz Jr. –SM Mall of Asia; Ryan Rigonan – Otis 888 Residences; Dennis Canilang- Woodsville Village Mall; Rosario Ramirez and Marvin Pamplina – HR Dept.; and Fondador Molina – Lyceum of the Philippines, Cavite. Also included are 21 more individuals from varied construction companies, all working in line with safety.
Management ensures that its personnel are constantly updated insofar as safety is concern so that accidents are prevented and safety concerns are not compromised.
